How To Add New Clients To Jim’s Jobs

You can add new clients from Jim’s Jobs Web

1. Select Clients from the Jim’s Jobs Web side menu.

2. Select New Client

3. Follow the below process to enter in clients to Jim’s Jobs

Jim’s Jobs Mobile App is available on all iOS and Android devices.


iOS

1. Download Jim’s Jobs Mobile App for iOS.

Click HERE to download the iOS app.

2. Grant permissions in your mobile phone settings.

  • On your phone, open Settings > General > Device Management.
  • You’ll see the Jim’s Job app in a list.
  • Select the option to trust the app.
  • You can then open up and log in.

Android

1.Download Jim’s Jobs Mobile App for Android.

2. Grant permissions in your mobile phone settings.

  • On your phone, open Settings > Apps
  • Tap the Menu icon (upper-right)
  • Tap Special Access
  • Tap Install Unknown Apps
  • Select Jim’s Jobs from the list

Add TC’s to Quotes & Invoices

DESKTOP

Log in to Jim’s Jobs Web to set up your term and conditions.

1. Click on Invoices in the Jim’s Jobs Web side menu.

2. Click on the settings wheel and select either; Edit Quote General Notes, or Edit Invoice General Notes.

3. Add your terms and conditions.

4. Click save.

You will only need to do this once. Terms and conditions will be automatically added to all future Quotes and Invoices.

Setting Up Your Services

DESKTOP

Log in to Jim’s Jobs Web to set up your services.

1. Click on Settings in the Jim’s Jobs Web side menu.

2. Select Items & Services from the list

3. From the Item & Services page, click Add New Service.

4. Add a service name, description, price, service code, select a GL account and click Add

The new service can now be found in your Items & Services list. You can now add this service to any Quote or Invoice.

WEB:

  • Update the workflow of saving and previewing invoices to be similar to the previous version. In the Invoice new UI, Confirm Invoice button is renamed to Save with the same functionality. Clicking Save will create a new invoice in the database, and keep you on the invoice dialog so you can continue to Preview & Send it.
  • Fix issue of invoice note not being prepopulated with job note
  • Fix pagination issue on Invoices list. The ‘All’ option in ‘Records per page’ is removed to prevent memory overload. Two new options of ‘100’ and ‘200’ are added. If you need to view more than 200 records of invoices, you can leverage the Invoice List Report under the Reports menu.
  • Fix issue of getting extra Delete and View icon when adding payment from Edit Job dialog

ANDROID

  • Fix issue of Diary filter preferences not being retained when switching between screens

2. Clients – post

Adding New Clients (including Pickups)

To add a new client, click on the Add Client menu…
This will display a blank client screen, where you can type in the relevant personal and contact details, when you service them, and how you want to bill them. This is described in more detail further in this document.

When you add a pickup in Jim’s Jobs, it will push through to Jim’s Online and Xero (if applicable). There is no longer a need to enter them into Jim’s Online.

System requirements

Any modern PC from within the last 10 years or so, running an up-to-date version of any of the following browsers1 will be capable of running Jim’s Jobs Web:

  • Google Chrome (Recommended)
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft  Edge
  • Safari (Partially supported)

The following is recommended as a minimum for running Jim’s Jobs Web:

  1. PC display larger than a tablet (recommended 1600 pixel wide resolution)
    1. Jim’s Jobs Web has been designed for use & display on a PC’s browser window and compatibility is not guaranteed on a tablet.
    2. Jim’s Jobs Mobile has been designed for use & display on smartphones and compatibility is not guaranteed on a tablet.
    3. “Tablet compatibility” is in the backlog and may be released in future Jim’s Jobs updates.

1  Internet Explorer will not be supported, as it is not being supported in the marketplace from January 2020.

Important Browser Settings 

  • Firefox users

If you are using Firefox, under General Settings, please make sure you have set the Applications Portable Document Format (PDF) to Preview in Firefox. This is to enable previewing of Reports in Jim’s Jobs.
